Night painting & still life

 My night painting is the figure painting. I want to make it a dynamic composition though I am trying to capture an out-of-focus and still moment. I'm not sure how I feel about the new direction I took it in so I'm going to start over. The banana still life needs some help with a more specific and less cluttered composition so I will post updates on this piece shortly.

  This is the outline and start of my night painting. Im planning to paint a guy leaning on a wall in an alleyway. Like my previous dog painting, the alleyway itself will be rendered loosely but with enough information for the viewer to under the location. Overall, the painting will be done in cool colors to evoke a feeling of melancholy. (hopefully i used that word correctly in the sentence...)
