Night Painting Progress
This is the outline and start of my night painting. Im planning to paint a guy leaning on a wall in an alleyway. Like my previous dog painting, the alleyway itself will be rendered loosely but with enough information for the viewer to under the location. Overall, the painting will be done in cool colors to evoke a feeling of melancholy. (hopefully i used that word correctly in the sentence...)

This is beautiful! I love that the forms give just enough information to communicate that this is a window of a car and a side mirror, but aren't hyper realistic. The painting as a whole feels almost abstract and it works well. I am also very drawn to the yellows, oranges, and purples and the up and down brushstrokes you used.
ReplyDeleteThis gives me flashbacks to rainy car rides. It's so splendid and elegantly painted with soft hues of blues. The hint of warmth free-flowing from the center of the scene is soft on the eyes. I can't wait to see more pieces like this. :)
